Strengthening Your Relationship With God Through Daily Prayer

Praying is a way of talking to our heavenly Father. For a Christian, it is very important to pray every day to strengthen your relationship with God. The Bible promises that if we ask according to God's will and know that he wishes our good, he will hear us. We have prepared a list of prayer points with Bible verses for various life situations, problem-solving, and spiritual growth. Pastor Ayo Ajani, the global senior pastor of Petra Christian Centre Church, delves further into the significance of the Word of God.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

If you ever feel at a loss for what to pray for, there is no better guidebook for petitions to our Heavenly Father than the Bible. Almost every book in the Bible contains a plea or request, and page after page points to another reason we need a Savior.

Strong prayer points with Bible verses

There are many occurrences and situations in our world that might generate significant worry and anxiety. It is all too easy to get overwhelmed and enslaved by fear. When we pray, though, things calm down, and we feel relieved.

Prayer points with scriptures for spiritual growth

Declare that you are with Christ. Here are some prayer points for your spiritual growth.

  • I believe and declare that I am a born again child of God. I am born again through the living word of God that lasts forever. - 1 Peter 1:23

  • God has rescued me from the power of darkness, and he brought me into Jesus' kingdom. - Colossians 1:13

  • God chose me before the creation of this world. Through Christ, he chose me, loved me and made me his child again. I am his possession. He brought me out of the darkness into his wonderful light. -Ephesians 1:4-6; 1 Peter 2:9

Powerful prayer points from Senior Pastor

When addressing Christians grappling with sin, which hinders their spiritual growth, Pastor Ayo Ajani, the senior pastor of Petra Christian Centre Church, explained that:

It will help to know that Satan’s primary assignment is to deceive the world (Rev 12:9). Jesus called him a liar and the father of lies (John 8:44) as such he works overtime to sell lies to everyone who cares to buy. When people find it difficult believing that Jesus has forgiven them or difficult believing any bible truth at all, it shows they’ve believed a lie of Satan more than the word of God. The Word of God is clear in 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Pastor Ajani recommended that believers entangled in such falsehoods renew their minds with the Word of God, by applying these scriptures:

  • For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted. - Hebrews 2:18
  • There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. - 1 Corinthians 10:13
  • Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. - Psalm 119:11
  • This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. - Galatians 5:16
  • Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. - Romans 6:12
